ITC, Britannia advance after SC asks cos to settle dispute out of court
NEW DELHI: Shares of Britannia Industries and ITC gained in Wednesday’s trade after the Supreme Court asked both the companies to settle their dispute regarding the alleged deceptive packaging of their digestive biscuits out of court.

The development followed ITC’s move to reach out to the apex court challenging the Delhi High Court's March 10 verdict allowing Britannia to use its earlier blue and yellow coloured package for selling 'Nutri Choice Digestive Zero' biscuits.

Following the development, shares of ITC rose 1 per cent to hit a high of Rs 333.70 on BSE. Britannia Industries rose 0.61 per cent to Rs 3712.50.

The order by a division bench of the high court had come on Britannia Industries Ltd's plea challenging its single judge's decision which had said the blue and yellow package was deceptively similar to that of ITC's 'Sunfeast Farmlite Digestive All Good', PTI reported.
