Is BSE facing an NSE-like snag?

Some users of Airtel broadband and mobile connections in Delhi reported unavailability of quotes on BSE website just after noon from around 1.15 pm on Monday.

When contacted, a BSE spokesperson however said they have not received any complaint or faced any issues because of Airtel connections.

An Airtel executive said there has been some problem in select areas, and the services will be restored by midnight.

However, the same users said they were not having any issues accessing NSE quotes.

Users of other major telecom operators such as Reliance Jio Infocomm and Vodafone Idea also did not face any issues in accessing live quotes on the BSE.

About a month ago, on Feb 24, NSE had extended trading hours till 5 pm after brokers and dealers said all trading was stopped on the exchange due to some technical glitch, and asked their clients to use BSE instead.

All open orders on NSE, including cash, derivatives and currency, were cancelled by the exchange on that day.
