Shares of infrastructure companies gained momentum as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee planned to step up infrastructure facilities across a large number of railway stations.

MUMBAI: Shares of infrastructure companies gained momentum as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee planned to step up infrastructure facilities across a large number of railway stations.

Banerjee has planned to develop 50 stations with international standards. Moreover, construction of multi-functional complexes in railway stations is also on the cards.

At 12:30 pm, shares of GMR Infrastructure were trading 1.81 per cent higher at Rs 140.75 while Lanco Industries gained 2.7 per cent to Rs 28.50, Reliance Infrastructure rose 1.39 per cent to Rs 1270.
