Indonesia will maintain its presence in the issuance of global bonds next year, including Kangaroo and Dim Sum bonds, a Finance Ministry official said on Tuesday, adding that the ministry is "open-minded" about the issuance of Panda bonds.

The Southeast Asian country so far this year has issued seven global bonds, including bonds in U.S. dollars, euros and Japanese yen, as well as its debut issues of Kangaroo bonds and renminbi-denominated Dim Sum bonds.

"We need to maintain a presence in global issuance so we could be the benchmark for others like state-owned and private companies," said Suminto, an official at the Finance Ministry.

Indonesia is considering issuing Panda bonds next year and is discussing terms of the yuan-denominated debt sale, the Financial Times has reported.
