Indiabulls Securities gets BQ 1 grading

Crisil has assigned a broker grading of ‘BQ 1’ to Indiabulls Securities Ltd.

MUMBAI: Crisil has assigned a broker grading of ‘BQ 1’ to Indiabulls Securities Ltd.

The grading indicates CRISIL’s opinion on the quality of service provided by the stock broker, and is expressed on a five-point scale, with ‘BQ 1’ being the highest and ‘BQ 5’ the lowest.

The grading reflects Indiabulls’s strong risk management and internal control systems, standardised processes and procedures, and healthy financial risk profile.

Indiabulls ranks among the top two retail brokerage houses in India with a client base of 4.58 lakh as on March 31, 2007, up from 30,000 as on March 31, 2004.

However, these strengths are partially offset by the limited research and information services offered to customers by Indiabulls, CRISIL says.

Indiabulls group companies make equity investments on their proprietary account, which is susceptible to volatility in the market. However, the group’s proprietary investment book is small in comparison with the group’s net worth levels, and is therefore unlikely to adversely affect the capitalization, the rating agency says.
