Hong Kong, Shanghai stocks extend gains in opening trade
Shares in Hong Kong and Shanghai rose soon after opening Monday, extending last week's gains on hopes the US Federal Reserve will keep interest rates at record lows into next year.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong was up 0.49 percent, or 110.50 points, at 22,569.30.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.33 percent, or 10.39 points, to 3,193.54, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.58 percent, or 10.59 points, to 1,822.22.
