Honasa Consumer, the parent company of Mamaearth and The Derma Co, reported an 86.7% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 73.25 crore for the September quarter on Friday, November 6, supported by strong demand across its beauty and personal care brands, wider distribution and improving profitability. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 39.23 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. However, profit declined 19% sequentially from Rs 90.45 crore in the June quarter.

Revenue from operations increased 35.9% to Rs 731.19 crore from Rs 538.06 crore a year earlier, marking the company's highest quarterly revenue growth since its stock market listing in November 2023.

Revenue declined 3.3% sequentially from Rs 755.95 crore in the preceding quarter.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) nearly doubled to Rs 93 crore, reflecting stronger operating performance as the company expanded its presence across traditional retail, modern trade and online platforms. The EBITDA margin stood at 12.7%, indicating an improvement in operating profitability alongside higher sales.

Honasa said its focus categories recorded revenue growth of more than 40% during the quarter and now account for over 80% of the company's business. The performance was supported by rising demand across its skincare, haircare and other personal care products, along with wider availability across retail channels.

Mamaearth, the company's flagship brand, maintained revenue growth in the high teens, with EBITDA margins in the mid-teens, reflecting continued demand and profitability. The Derma Co, another major brand in Honasa's portfolio, sustained profitable growth as its distribution network expanded to more than 65,000 retail outlets.

The company's younger brands also delivered strong growth, with their combined revenue increasing more than 45% year-on-year.

Honasa has been expanding its portfolio beyond Mamaearth to capture demand across different price points and consumer categories in India's beauty and personal care market.

Varun Alagh, chairman, CEO and co-founder of Honasa Consumer, said the September quarter reflected the company's efforts to build a larger presence in the sector. "We delivered our highest growth since listing, with revenue growing 36% YoY and EBITDA nearly doubling to Rs 93 crore," Alagh said.

He added that growth in focus categories and strong performance across sales channels reflected the company's efforts to reach a wider consumer base.

Honasa continued to expand its offline retail network during the quarter, particularly across general trade outlets such as neighbourhood stores. Its general trade distribution network reached approximately 3.2 lakh outlets, supported by efforts to increase product availability across markets.

The company also reported more than 40% YoY growth in offtake through modern trade channels, which include supermarkets and organised retail chains. The stronger offline performance is significant for Honasa, which initially built its business around digital-first beauty and personal care brands.

Expanding distribution through physical stores gives the company access to a wider group of consumers, particularly in markets where online purchasing remains relatively limited. The company said growth was broad-based across general trade, modern trade and e-commerce, reflecting the increasing contribution of multiple sales channels.

Honasa has also been investing in product innovation to support demand and strengthen the position of its brands.
