Highway Infrastructure shares fell nearly 48% in the last one year.

Shares of Highway Infrastructure gained nearly 5% on Thursday to day’s high of Rs 45.90 on the NSE after the company bagged a contract worth Rs 220.66 crore from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).

According to a filing with the exchange on Wednesday, the contract is for collection of user fees and operation of toll plazas along with deployment of 04 number of patrol-cum-safety vehicles with required personnel manning these vehicles for Gorakhpur Link Expressway.

The company also said that the total consideration or size of the order is Rs 220.66 crore which includes Rs 105.07 crore for the first year and an escalation of 10% per annum for the second-year period.


The time period by which the order or contract is to be executed is two years and is awarded by a domestic entity.

The filing further said that no promoter/ promoter group companies have any interest in the entity that awarded the order(s)/contract (s) and the order(s)/contract(s) would not fall within related party transactions.

On August 21, the company announced receiving LOA for operation at Palayam Fee Plaza at Km 154+500 of NH-44 in Krishnagiri to Thumbipadi section from Km 94+000 to Km 180+000 on BOT basis in the state of Tamil Nadu and upkeep/maintenance of adjacent toilet blocks including recouping consumable items.

The total cost of the project was Rs 80.16 crore and the total time period by which the project is to be executed is 90 days.

The company also said that located on the Krishnagiri-Thumbipadi section of NH-44, Palayam Fee Plaza forms part of a crucial regional and long-distance traffic corridor in Tamil Nadu. The stretch benefits from connectivity to Bengaluru, Hosur, Dharmapuri and key industrial belts, supporting passenger movement, freight flow, logistics activity and toll revenue potential.

In the last one month, the stock of Highway Infrastructure gained marginally of around 0.18%. In the current calendar year so far, the stock fell over 22%, and nearly 48% in the last one year.
