MUMBAI: Shares of Hero MotoCorp were down on profit booking as reports of workers protesting at Gurgaon plant against no wage hike dampened sentiment.

The protest is peaceful as workers are protesting against no wage hike by wearing black arms-bands and are boycotting snacks given by the company. The Union says there is no plan of going on strike, reported ET Now.

The workers are unhappy over marginal hike offered by Hero Moto management. They have demanded wage hike similar to Maruti Suzuki, HMSI.

As of now there has been no disruption in production at the Gurgaon plant. The management has said that wage negotiations are on and talks are progressing.

At 09:40 a.m., the stock was at Rs 1,827.80, down 0.63 per cent, on the NSE. It touched a high of Rs 1,834.80 and a low of Rs 1,820 in early trade.
