Heard on the Street: Abhay Laijawala resigns from Deutsche Bank

It is not yet known which firm Laijawala is headed to next.

MUMBAI: Deutsche Equities India’s head of research Abhay Laijawala has put in his papers after a decade at the firm. A person aware of the development said Laijawala is on gardening leave, and that Deutsche Equities India’s oil and gas analyst Harshad Katkar is tipped to take over Laijawala’s position.

It is not yet known which firm Laijawala is headed to next. Laijawala’s Bloomberg executive profile says he was head of India research since July 2008.

Before joining Deutsche, Laijawala worked for Barclays de Zoete Wedd, JP Morgan Chase & Co, and Citigroup. Deutsche Equities India declined to comment on Laijawala’s exit.
