HCL Technologies shares likely to be in focus on Tuesday after the company unveiled a strategic partnership with France-based Dolphin Semiconductor to co-develop energy-efficient chips, an expansion into next-generation silicon design that the Indian IT major says will help enterprises cope with soaring demand for high-performance, low-power computing.

HCLTech said on Monday that the collaboration is designed to help enterprises address growing requirements for energy efficiency and performance in increasingly complex and connected environments. The Noida-based company said it will integrate Dolphin’s specialized low-power IP into its own silicon design workflows, leveraging its expertise in system-on-chip architecture, design and development.

According to HCLTech, the integration is intended to deliver scalable, high-efficiency SoCs that reduce energy consumption while maintaining robust computational capabilities across diverse workloads.

Hari Sadarahalli, CVP and head of engineering and R&D services at HCLTech, said the tie-up comes as clients confront an acceleration in data growth and compute needs. “As AI workloads surge, data grows exponentially and sustainability becomes a top priority, our collaboration with Dolphin Semiconductor will empower our clients to lead with agility, high performance and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility,” Sadarahalli said.

Dolphin Semiconductor sees wider market reach

Dolphin Semiconductor, which specializes in low-power semiconductor IP, said the alliance will significantly broaden its addressable market.

Pierre-Marie Dell’Accio, executive VP of engineering at Dolphin Semiconductor, said, “By partnering with HCLTech, we will be able to extend the reach of our low-power IP to more applications and customers than ever before. This partnership will help us push the boundaries of energy-efficient computing – whether it is for IoT devices or data centre ecosystems.”

HCLTech said the partnership is aimed at supporting both emerging and large-scale enterprise use-cases where energy efficiency is becoming central to technology strategy.
