HCL Infosystems gains over 5 pc
Shares of IT hardware firm HCL Infosystems today rose by over 5 per cent as the company bagged a contract from the Unique Identification Authority of India.
Bucking a sluggish stock market, the scrip settled at Rs 40.60, up 5.32 per cent on the BSE. In the intra-day trade, the stock soared 11.54 per cent to Rs 43.
At the NSE, the stock gained 5.44 per cent to close at Rs 40.70.
In terms of volume, 4.74 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the BSE, while over 12 lakh shares were traded on the NSE.
The contract, awarded on August 7, will see the entire end-to-end technology infrastructure of the UIDAI managed by HCL Infosystems as the designated managed services provider (MSP), HCL Infosystems said in a statement.
The contract is for a period of seven years, it added. No financial details were divulged. Meanwhile, in the broader market the Sensex ended at 17,557.74, down 3.13 points.
