HCC shares retreat 4.5 per cent post Q4 results

MUMBAI: Shares of infrastructure major Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) today fell 4.5 per cent after it reported an over 7 per cent decline in stand-alone net profit for the March quarter.

Reacting to the numbers, the stock plunged 5 per cent to Rs 20.90 on BSE.

On NSE, it tumbled 5.23 per cent to Rs 20.85.

HCC yesterday reported a 7.3 per cent decline in stand-alone net profit at Rs 19.1 crore for the March quarter.

Net profit stood at Rs 20.7 crore in the year-ago period, it had said in a BSE filing.

Its total income from operations increased to Rs 1,196 crore in January-March of 2015-16 as against Rs 1,175 crore a year earlier.

For the year, HCC has registered a net profit of Rs 84.9 crore in 2015-16, compared with Rs 81.7 crore last year.
