ATHENS: Greek shares fell more than five per cent on Monday before recovering slightly, a sign of investors' jitters three weeks away from a snap election that has raised fears about the future of Greece's economy and whether it remains in the eurozone.

The main Athex index plunged 5.19 per cent in afternoon trading before recovering slightly to a fall of 4.66 per cent to stand at 797.18 points.
