Goa Carbons surges 7% on resumption on Bilaspur plant
NEW DELHI: Shares of Goa Carbons jumped nearly 7 per cent in Thursday’s trade after the company said it had resumed operations at Bilaspur Plant in Chhattisgarh.

The company had on December 5 informed BSE that it had to temporarily shut down the plant from December 3, but expected no financial impact due to sufficient inventory to service the orders in hands.

Following the report, the stock jumped 6.8 per cent to hit a high of Rs 109.80 on BSE.

Bilaspur Plant had produced 2,208 million tonnes of calcined petroleum coke in November, valuing Rs 3.92 crore. Goa Plant and Paradeep Plant, producing the same product, had reported production of goods worth Rs 4.4 crore and Rs 9.99 crore for the month. Overall, the three units had produced Rs 18.35 crore worth of goods, while selling 27.36 crore worth of goods.
