Globus Spirits soars on Chivas Brothers partnership buzz

Shares of Globus Spirits surged 20% on Monday on speculation that the liquor marketer was in talks to partner global liquor giant Chivas Brothers, which makes the Chivas Regal high-end scotch, to enter markets in the US and Europe.

An e-mail sent to the company did not elicit a response. Noidabased Globus had said earlier that it was looking for “international relationships” to launch new brands.

The stock ended at Rs 118.10, its maximum tradeable price on the BSE on Monday. Over 9 lakh shares were traded on BSE, against the two-week average of 1.15 lakh shares.
