​Gainers and Losers: L&T, RBL Bank among 5 stocks in focus on Wednesday

​Benchmark Sensex bounced back 351 points while Nifty closed above the 19,750 level on Wednesday following buying in capital goods, banking, and oil shares amid fresh foreign fund inflows. Snapping its three-session losing run, the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 351.49 points or 0.53 per cent to settle at 66,707.20. The broader NSE Nifty advanced 97.70 points or 0.50 per cent to end at 19,778.30. As many as 31 Nifty shares closed in the green, 18 declined and one closed flat. L&T

​Shares of L&T ended with over 3% gains on the NSE as the stock hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 2,673.85. It was the top gainer as investors lapped up the counter following strong Q1 earnings and the announcement of a share buyback.

Piramal Enterprises

Shares of Piramal Enterprises settled at Rs 1,081 on the NSE, up by Rs 77 or 7.67%. The uptick was on the share buyback announcement by the company. The board will meet on Friday to approve Q1 results and consider buyback.

RBL Bank

​Shares of RBL Bank closed over 7% higher as the stock hit its 52-week high of Rs 242.20 on the NSE, on Wednesday, following a media report which said that Mahindra Group has likely bought a 4% stake in the private lender. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra shares fell 1.3% to 1,545.90.

Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals

Shares of Deepak Fertilizers fell over 6% to close at Rs 552 after the company reported over 70% YoY decline in its net profit for the June quarter.

Suzlon

Shares of housing finance company Can Fin Homes tanked over 9% to end at Rs 770.75 on the NSE after the company informed that the employees at one of its branches had committed fraud of nearly Rs 38.53 crore by transferring funds to different personal bank accounts.
