F&O Ban List: Ashok Leyland, NALCO among 7 stocks under trade ban on Wednesday

The F&O contracts of any stock enter the ban period when the open interest (OI) on it crosses 95% of the market-wide positions limits or MWPL. The ban on it is reversed only if the open interest falls below 80%.

Seven stocks are under the F&O ban list on Wednesday, February 7 viz. Ashok Leyland, Hindustan Copper, India Cements, Indus Towers, National Aluminium Company (NALCO), UPL and Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL).

Ashok Leyland is the latest entrant.

The F&O contracts of any stock enter the ban period when the open interest (OI) on it crosses 95% of the market-wide positions limits or MWPL. The ban on it is reversed only if the open interest falls below 80%.


Traders who trade in indices do not encounter a situation of security ban.

The MWPL for Ashok Leyland stood at 109.6% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 121.2 million. It was up 14.9% from the previous session.

The MWPL for Hindustan Copper stood at 96.4% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 37.7 million. It was down by 2.7% from the previous session.

For Indus Towers, the MWPL stood at 117.7% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 134.7 million. It was down 3.8% from the previous session.

The MWPL for India Cements stood at 101.8% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 23.2 million. It was down 3.4% from the previous session.

The MWPL for NALCO stood at 89.2% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 84.2 million. It was down 13.6% from the previous session.

The MWPL for UPL stood at 90% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 41.1 million. It was down by 8.3% from the previous session.

For Zee, the MWPL stood at 84.9% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 83.8 million. It was down 1.5% from the previous session.

Indian headline indices ended in the green on Tuesday amid strong buying trends in auto and IT stocks. While Nifty ended the session at 21,929.40, up by 157.70 points or 0.72%, S&P BSE Sensex settled at 72,186.09, higher by 454.67 points or 0.63%.
