Exide Industries Ltd. shares drop 0.99% as Sensex falls

Sensex and Nifty shed more than 9 per cent last week, and the indices entered bear market territory, and the bottom is not yet in sight.
Shares of Exide Industries Ltd. traded 0.99 per cent down at Rs 154.7 at 11:53AM (IST) on Tuesday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex dropped 517.55 points to 36176.14. The scrip had closed at Rs 156.25 in the previous session.

The stock quoted a 52-week high and 52-week low of Rs 208.8 and Rs 121.9, respectively.

As per BSE data, total traded volume on the counter till 11:53AM (IST) stood at 11:53AM shares with turnover at Rs 1.38 crore.


At the current price, the stock trades at 17.12 times its trailing 12-month earnings per share of Rs 8.98 per share and 2.01 times its price-to-book value, the exchange data showed.

A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher share price today because of growth expectations in the future. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.

The Beta value of the stock, which measures its volatility in relation to the broader market, stood at 1.16.
