Europe's main stock markets opened mixed Friday following divergence across major Asian indices, as traders assessed the outlook for interest rates in a week dominated by central bank policy.

London's FTSE 100 index won 0.1 percent to 7,892.47 points, having closed up almost two percent Thursday as the Bank of England signalled it could start cutting interest rates in the coming months.

In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index dropped 0.3 percent to 8,154.63 points and Frankfurt's DAX shed 0.2 percent to 18,151.26.
