European equities climb at open

London, Jan 22, 2024 -Europe's top stock markets advanced on Monday at the opening bell, after another tech-driven rally on Wall Street before the weekend.

In initial trade, London's FTSE 100 index advanced 0.4 percent to 7,489.33 points.

In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 increased by 0.9 percent to 7,441.17 points and Frankfurt's DAX tacked on 0.7 percent to stand at 16,673.02.


Asian indices traded mixed Monday following a record finish on Wall Street, while hopes for an early US interest rate cut were dealt a fresh blow by Federal Reserve officials looking to rein in investor expectations.
