Nervousness ahead of IT behemoth Infosys’ March quarter earnings and rising geopolitical tensions resulted in a fall of domestic equity market today.

North Korea on Tuesday warned of a nuclear attack on the United States on any sign of aggression, as a US Navy strike group steamed toward the western Pacific. President Donald Trump described the force as an ‘armada’.

Trump tweeted that North Korea was “looking for trouble” and the United States would “solve the problem” with or without China’s help.

The Nifty 50 index closed 33.55 points down at 9.203.

On the option front, maximum Put open interest is at 9000 followed by 9100 strike while maximum Call open interest is at 9300 followed by 9500 strike.

Nifty50 formed a ‘Bearish’ candle on Wednesday. The index breached its 5-day exponential moving average, made a new swing low of 9,161, but respected its 13-day exponential moving average to settle the day above 9,200 mark.

Analysts noted that the index was in a corrective phase since the recent high of 9,274 and that the Wednesday’s chart seemed like the top of the bottom.
