This is Abhinav Kaul and I will take you through the motions of today’s session on Dalal Street and bring you cues and trading tips from market veterans for Tuesday.

In a thrilling session on Monday, the domestic equity market registered fresh lifetime high. This was despite the National Stock Exchange witnessing no trading for over three hours due to a technical glitch in the morning trade.

The NSE benchmark Nifty50 topped its much anticipated 9,700 level, while the BSE Sensex surged over 355 points.

Bharti Airtel, TCS and Wipro contributed most to the gains, with recovery in IT stocks ahead of financial results for the June quarter. TCS will announce its first quarter results on Thursday, while Infosys is scheduled to announce its earnings on Friday.

On the option front, maximum Put open interest shifted to 9,600 followed by 9500 strike while maximum Call open interest also shifted to 9800 followed by 9700 strike.

Significant Put writing is seen at 9700 and 9600 strike which is supporting this breakout and suggesting an extension of this up move.

Put Call Ratio based on open interest of Nifty has moved higher thus suggesting a tight grip of bulls and option put writers.

The Nifty50 formed a strong Bullish candle on the daily chart. The index closed 105 points up at 9771.
