Essel Propack soars on acquisition reports

Specialty packaging firm Essel Propack's stock soared 6.56 per cent to Rs 66.60 on reports that it was in talks to acquire a packaging unit of Canada-based Alcan.

MUMBAI: Specialty packaging firm Essel Propack's stock soared 6.56 per cent to Rs 66.60 on reports that it was in talks to acquire a packaging unit of Canada-based Alcan.

The company is reportedly in talks with Alcan for acquiring its packaging unit, Alcan Packaging Beauty.

Montreal-based Alcan, which is the worlds third-largest aluminium company, has said it plans to sell its packaging unit as part of a restructuring exercise, reports said.
