Emami drops after AMRI hospital fire incident

Shares of Emami Ltd slipped over 15% in early trade on Monday after the fire incident in AMRI killing atleast 84 persons.

NEW DELHI: Shares of Emami Ltd slipped over 15% in early trade on Monday after the fire incident in AMRI killing atleast 84 persons.

AMRI Hospitals is jointly promoted by Emami which owns 66% and Shrachi venture which holds 32%, reports suggest.

However, N H Bhansali, CEO, Emami Group clarified, "There is no relation between the company and the hospital and there is no financial impact on the company."

At 11:20 a.m., shares of the company were trading 6.5% lower at Rs 366.85. The stock has hit a low of Rs 328.10 and a high of Rs 382.50.
