The global economy appeared to slip into an abyss in 2008-09 as markets collapsed and banks teetered on the edge of insolvency. A decade later, the financial crisis is only a distant memory as economies and asset classes stage a remarkable rebound due to central bank pump-priming, fiscal stimulus in some countries and inherent resilience of certain economies.
