MUMBAI: Shares of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories were down on profit booking in early trade after Sucampo Pharmaceuticals and others filed patent infringement lawsuit against the company for AMITIZA generic products.

Sucampo, R-Tech Ueno and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company have filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey against the company.

The lawsuit is related to an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) that Dr. Reddy's filed with the USF DA to market, sell and use a generic version of AMITIZA (lubiprostone) soft gelatin capsule products.

The lawsuit claims infringement of 7 patents that are listed in the FDA's Orange Book, with the latest expiring in 2027.

At 09:29 a.m.; the stock was at Rs 3,395, down 1.34 per cent, on the BSE. It touched a high of Rs 3,426 and a low of Rs 3,370 in early trade.
