Under Sebi’s T+1 settlement cycle, investors need to purchase a company’s shares at least one trading day before the record date to ensure the shares are credited to their demat accounts in time, and they become eligible for the corporate action. Accordingly, today is the last opportunity for investors to buy the shares so that they are credited to their accounts by the record date (August 20), making them eligible for the dividend.
Mazagon Dock dividend
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders in April had announced that its board of directors have recommended a final dividend of Rs 4.62 per share for the financial year 2026. The company later fixed August 20 as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders set to receive the payment.The PSU major has declared 14 dividends since February 2021, and has a dividend yield of 0.62%, according to data on Trendlyne. The shares of the company have fallen 6% in a year, but delivered strong returns of more than 176% in three years and 2,095% in five years.
Natco Pharma dividend
Natco Pharma last week declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.5 per share for the ongoing financial year 2027, along with its Q1 results. While the record date was fixed on Thursday, the said interim dividend will be paid from August 26.The pharma company has declared 42 dividends since September, 2002, and the stock has a dividend yield of 0.56%, according to data on Trendlyne.

Other dividend stocks
Kama Holdings accounts for the highest dividend payout among the stocks turning ex-record date on Thursday, as the company is set to pay an interim dividend of Rs 22.25 per share. La Opala RG will pay Rs 5 per share, while NIIT Learning Systems will pay Rs 3.25 per share. Kuantum Papers will pay a dividend of Rs 2.5 per share, OCCL will pay Rs 1.8 per share, while Dai-Ichi Karkaria will pay Rs 1.5 per share.Other stocks turning ex-record date for their respective dividends on Thursday include Munjal Auto Industries, NIIT, and Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals, each paying Rs 1 per share. Marksans Pharma will pay Rs 0.9 per share, Shiva Texyarn will pay Rs 0.6 per share, Coastal Corporation will pay Rs 0.28 per share, and BR Goyal Infrastructure will pay a dividend of Rs 0.25 per share.
Bonus issue
Meanwhile, Organic Recycling Systems has fixed August 20 (Thursday) as the record date for its 1:2 bonus issue. A bonus issue consists of free shares distributed by a company from its reserves and is often seen as a sign of strong financial health and growth prospects.While the issue of bonus shares increases the total number of outstanding shares, it does not change the company’s market capitalisation. However, it can improve liquidity and affordability, allowing more investors to add shares of the company to their portfolio.
