DHFL slumps 11% as Deloitte quits as auditor

NEW DELHI: Shares of DHFL slumped 11 per cent in Monday’s trade after Deloitte quit as the auditor of cash-strapped company, sources told PTI.

Communication regarding Deloitte quitting as DHFL's auditor has been sent to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, one of the sources said. Another source confirmed to PTI that Deloitte has quit, but without citing any reasons.

By 9.40 am, there was no such disclosure by the company to the stock exchanges. But the stock had fallen 11.57 per cent to Rs 41.25.


There have also been reports that Deloitte Haskins & Sells and the company's second auditor, Chaturvedi & Shah, may quit due to unsatisfactory responses from the company to their queries related to fund deployment.

Debt-laden DHFL sits on a debt pile of Rs 90,000 crore and has defaulted on its various repayment obligations in a serial manner in the recent past.

The shares of the company closed 10.08 per cent lower at Rs 41.95 on BSE.
