NEW DELHI: Shares of Deepak Nitrate Slipped over 4 per cent on Friday after the company said it had received an order from Telengana state population board to close one of its three units in Hyderabad.

The company in a filing to BSE said it manufactures Diamino Stilbene Disulphonic Acid (DSDA) at the Hyderabad facility and the unit for which order has been received is a processing unit.

The company's DASDA production will be affected due to said order, it informed BSE.

Following the development, the stock fell 4.48 per cent to settle at Rs 120.50 on BSE. The company said it was taking all the necessary steps to correct the anomaly pointed out by the authorities in the manufacturing system.

“Efforts are being put to get the closure notice revoked within a week or so. There will not be any major impact on service to DASDA customers. The week-long interruption in production shall not have any major impact on the Opticat Brightening Agents’ production as inventories are available,” the company said.
