SBI Capital’s holding is valued at around Rs 19,650 crore, while State Bank of India owns shares worth around Rs 14,634 crore. The value of the holdings is based on NSE’s Thursday closing price of Rs 1,818 on the BSE.

Top long-standing shareholders of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), including several prominent institutions, business families and wealthy investors, are sitting on holdings worth thousands of crores following the bourse’s stock market listing on Thursday.

The Life Insurance Corporation of India is the biggest shareholder, with its holding valued at around Rs 48,620 crore. It is followed by Aranda Investments Mauritius and Stock Holding Corporation, with holdings valued at a little over Rs 20,000 crore each.

Among other prominent shareholders are D-Mart owner Radhakishan Damani, whose holding is valued at around Rs 7,164 crore, and Hero MotoCorp’s Sunil Kant Munjal, whose stake is worth around Rs 1,870 crore.

Wipro founder Azim Premji’s PI Opportunities holds shares valued at around Rs 10,667 crore, while Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy’s Catamaran Ventures owns shares worth around Rs 705 crore.

S Gopalakrishnan, a former Infosys senior executive, Hexaware Technologies founder Atul Nishar, Avenue Supermarts’ former MD and CEO Ignatius Navil Noronha, Haldiram Snacks MD Manohar Lal Agarwal, Sobha chairman PNC Menon and Samco Group chairman Vipul Jayantilal Modi are among the other longstanding shareholders with sizeable holdings in NSE.
