Stocks ended higher on Monday snapping a three-session losing streak, boosted by financials such as Housing Development Finance Corp and IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services, Reuters reported.

Investors remained cautious in early trade following the central bank announcing measures to curb liquidity concerns ahead of a key policy meet later this week.

“Nifty recovered strongly and settled with decent gains amid volatility. It opened flat, but selling pressure in the select index majors pushed the index lower. However, encouraging macroeconomic data viz. uptick in manufacturing activities and GST collection figures, combined with recovery in the NBFC and banking majors eased the pressure. It was broad-based recovery and others also joined in as session progressed,” said Jayant Manglik, President, Religare Broking.
