Capital Goods, realty, tyre stocks surge in trade

NEW DELHI: Sustained buying on the Dalal Street kept market upbeat in the afternoon trade on Tuesday. Market sentiments were buoyed since morning after the ruling party at the Centre, BJP, showed a spectacular show in recently held assembly elections in five states.

Barring the BSE Telecom index (down 0.34), rest other indices on the exchange were trading in green around 1.51 pm (IST). The BSE Capital Goods index was up 3.22 per cent, followed by Realty (up 2.77 per cent), Bankex (up 2.21 per cent) and Healthcare index (up 2.06 per cent).

In the capital goods space, Larsen & Toubro were trading higher by nearly 5 per cent around the same time, followed by CG Power (up 3.36 per cent), NBCC (up 3.08 per cent), Va Tech Wabag (up 3.10 per cent) and BHEL (up 2.50 per cent).

All the 10 components in the BSE Realty index were also trading higher in afternoon trade with Indiabulls Real Estate surging the most 5.42 per cent, DLF (up 3.38 per cent), Sobha (up 1.93 per cent) and Prestige (up 1.84 per cent).

Tyre stocks such as MRF, Ceat and JK Tyre were also trading higher by 1.61 per cent, 5.13 per cent and 4.53 per cent, respectively.
