Cairn India up 1.2% on Sesa Goa open offer

Shares of Cairn India Ltd were up 1.24 per cent at Rs 342.60 on the National Stock Exchange, after Vedanta and Sesa Goa made an open offer to acquire 20 per cent from the open market.

MUMBAI: Shares of Cairn India Ltd were up 1.24 per cent at Rs 342.60 on the National Stock Exchange, after Vedanta and Sesa Goa made an open offer to acquire 20 per cent from the open market. The stock touched a high of Rs 344.25 from a low of Rs 339.05.

Total traded quantity on NSE was 34,66,263 shares and turnover Rs 118.38 crore.

THL Aluminum and Vedanta Resources Plc along with Sesa Goa have announced an open offer to the shareholders of Cairn India Ltd to acquire up to an aggregate of 383,985,368 equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each, constituting 20 per cent emerging voting capital, at a price of Rs. 355 per share.

The offer opens on October 11 and closes on October 30.
