Buzzing stocks: Vodafone Idea, RIL, TCS, NHPC

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea with over 12.45 crore shares changing hands was leading among the most traded stocks on NSE on Monday.

Shares of NHPC (number of shares traded: 1.81 crore) , Indian Oil Corp (number of shares traded: 1.22 crore) , YES Bank (number of shares traded: 1.15 crore) , PowerGrid (number of shares traded: 0.51 crore) , Tata Motors (number of shares traded: 0.46 crore) , NMDC (number of shares traded: 0.46 crore) , Bharti Airtel (number of shares traded: 0.45 crore) , RIL (number of shares traded: 0.38 crore) and Ashok Leyland (number of shares traded: 0.36 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on the NSE. RIL (Rs 595.78 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms.

It was followed by TCS (Rs 353.77 crore) , HDFC Bank (Rs 307.53 crore) , Bharti Airtel (Rs 222.75 crore) , HCL Tech (Rs 175.04 crore) , Indian Oil Corp (Rs 142.08 crore) , PowerGrid (Rs 105.01 crore) , SBI (Rs 99.14 crore) , Tata Motors (Rs 92.34 crore) and IndusInd Bank (Rs 83.02 crore).


The NSE Nifty index was trading 10.8 points up at 12,363.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 72.47 points at 42,017.84 around 09:32 am.

In the Nifty index, Power Grid Corporation of India (up 5.29 per cent) , Tata Motors (up 1.82 per cent) , Bharti Infratel (up 1.63 per cent) , Asian Paints (up 1.32 per cent) and ITC (up 1.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Indian Oil Corporation (down 3.87 per cent) , Wipro (down 0.82 per cent) , Bharti Airtel (down 0.82 per cent) , Kotak
Mahindra Bank (down 0.61 per cent) and Reliance Industries (down 0.60 per cent) were among the top losers.
