BSE shifts the bull of Dalal Street to GIFT City

A recent attempt of BSE to give visitors the opportunity to take pictures next to the symbolic bull statue was nixed by the Mumbai's municipal body BMC. Globally, it's common to take pictures next to the bull statues near the stock exchange buildings. BSE, too, had installed a bull statue in its building.

But due to security reasons visitors were not allowed to take pictures next to it. So, the exchange prepared another light-weighted acrylic bull statue, which was put on a roller and kept in front of the BSE building.

Following complaints, BMC issued a notice to the bourse asking it to remove the statue within 48 hours as it was causing inconvenience. BSE has moved the bull statue to GIFT City in Gandhinagar. “Mumbai's loss is Gandhinagar Gift city's gain,“ said a person familiar with the development.BSE declined to comment on the matter.
