BSE holiday calendar 2020: 9 extended weekends this year
The first market holiday of the year falls on the occasion of Mahashivartri on February 21.

The first market holiday of the year falls on the occasion of Mahashivartri on February 21. It is followed by Holi, Ramnavmi and Mahavir Jayanti in the following months.
There are in total nine extended weekends (three days) as market holiday falls on either Monday or Friday on those occasions.
As many as seven holidays fall on weekends, including Diwali. The Muhurat Trading shall be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 (Diwali – Laxmi Pujan). BSE will announce the timings of for the same few days before Diwali.


The holidays are valid for the equity, equity derivatives and security lending and borrowing (SLB) segments.
