BPCL surges on hydrocarbons discovery in Brazil

MUMBAI: Shares of BPCL gained momentum after the company announced that the consortium of IBV Brazil (50:50 joint venture of Videocon Industries and Bharat PetroResources, (a subsidiary of the BPCL)) and Petrobas has made hydrocarbon discovery in one of the blocks in Brazil.

At 12 pm, the stock was at Rs 733.95, up Rs 29.85 or 4.24 per cent on the BSE. It touched a high of Rs 741.90 and low of Rs 702 in trade so far. Around 3.92 lakh shares were traded in the counter.
