BHEL shares in focus amid legal win, fresh arbitration case

In a recent decision, the Delhi High Court upheld an Interim Award in favor of BHEL, directing RattanIndia Power Ltd. to pay Rs. 115 crores, along with an 18% annual interest, starting from July 27, 2017.

BHEL share price: The company achieved a major legal victory and has launched a new arbitration case.
Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) will be in focus today, March 10, after the company secured a significant legal victory and initiated a fresh arbitration case, which could impact its financial outlook.

In a recent ruling by the Delhi High Court, an Interim Award in favor of BHEL has been upheld, directing RattanIndia Power Ltd. to pay Rs. 115 crores along with 18% annual interest, effective from July 27, 2017.

“Pursuant to Regulation 30(4) of SEBI (LODR) Regulations 2015, it is informed that An Interim Award passed in favour of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for an amount of Rs. 115 Crores with interest @18% per annum w.e.f. 30 days from the date of award i.e. 27.07.2017 against M/s RattanIndia Power Ltd. has been upheld by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi vide judgment dated 06.03.2025,” the company informed the stock exchanges.


Additionally, BHEL informed that it has initiated a new arbitration claim against M/s. Fitwell Constructions for the recovery of contractual dues worth Rs 283.7 crore. The respondent has not yet filed a counterclaim.

Over the past year, the stock of BHEL has declined by 23.60% while the year-to-date (YTD) change shows a drop of 15.65%. In the last six months, the price has decreased by 25.44% and the three-month period saw a 21% decline. Over the past month, the price of BHEL shares have fallen 3.03%.

On Friday, the shares of BHEL closed nearly 1% lower at Rs 196.70 on the BSE.
