BHEL March quarter profit doubles to Rs 457 crore, sales up 4% YoY

The engineering and construction major had reported Rs 215.55 crore profit in the year-ago quarter.

BHEL Q4 FY18: Profit at Rs 457.10 cr, Sale rose 3.73% YoY to Rs 9,832.82 cr
NEW DELHI: BHEL on Tuesday reported doubling of net profit at Rs 457.10 crore for the March quarter, beating Rs 450 crore estimate by analysts in an ET Now poll.

The engineering and construction major had reported Rs 215.55 crore profit in the year-ago period.

Sales for the quarter rose 3.73 per cent YoY to Rs 9,832.82 crore, compared with Rs 9,479.04 crore in the same quarter last year.


Margins for the quarter rose to 12.2 per cent from 5.8 per cent in the year-ago quarter.

The board has recommended final dividend of Rs 1.02 per share for FY18. Final dividend, if declared by the company in the Annual General Meeting shall be paid on October 10.

The company will hold its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, September 19.
