Bharati Shipyard shares up 1% on modern shipyard construction plans
Bharati Shipyard plans to construct a green field modern shipyard at Usgaon near the Dabhol port in Ratnagiri.

MUMBAI: Bharati Shipyard plans to construct a green field modern shipyard at Usgaon near the Dabhol port in Ratnagiri. The yard would have the capacity to build vessels upto 1,00,000 DWT and will be fully operational in two years.
The civil work and capital expenditure including installation of machineries at the yard has already commenced. Majority of the machineries and equipments including the Floating Dock of Swan Hunter Shipyard will be set up at Dabhol as they are capable of building vessels upto 250,000 DWT.
"The yard will be spread over an area of 250 acres. The company has already acquired more than 180 acres of land and is in process of acquiring balance land." said PC Kapoor, managing director of Bharati Shipyard.
At 1:16 pm, Bharati Shipyard shares were up 1.13 per cent at Rs 818.80 on BSE.
