Here are the details:
Bharat Forge signs MoU with Windracers for UAV collaboration in India
Bharat Forge signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UK-based Windracers Limited at the DSEI UK 2025 defence exhibition in London. The partnership aims to collaborate on the localisation, deployment, and application of Windracers ULTRA unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across India. The agreement, initially set for two years, allows for joint trials and lays the foundation for long-term deployment of UAVs suited to India’s varied operational environments.
The initiative supports the UK-India Free Trade Agreement and aligns with India-UK Vision 2035, fostering innovation, technology transfer, and aerospace development. The UAV platform, already tested in missions such as Antarctic research, offers multi-mission endurance of 6–7 hours and is equipped to operate in challenging terrains like the Himalayas, coastal regions, and the Northeast. Bharat Forge and Windracers aim to serve both military and civil sectors, including the Indian Navy and Air Force, with applications such as Carrier On Board Delivery (COD) and critical logistics.

This contract is the first of its kind between an Indian and Emirati defence firm and was signed by senior executives from both companies. The deal enhances the UAE’s defence self-reliance and strengthens Bharat Forge’s positioning in the global artillery systems supply chain. It also reinforces India’s defence export capabilities in strategic markets such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, reflecting broader cooperation between India and the UAE in areas such as platform integration, institutional ties, and long-term interoperability.
