Bharat Electronics rallies 11%, hits 52-week high as Q3 net soars to Rs 272 crore

NEW DELHI: Bharat Electronics Ltd surged as much as 10.9 per cent in trade on Tuesday to hit its fresh 52-week high of Rs 3,570, after the Bengaluru-based public sector defence undertaking announced 41.6 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 272 crore for the third quarter-ended December 2014.
The company reported a net profit of Rs 192 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
At 09:20 am; BEL pared some of the intraday gains but was still trading 7.3 percent higher at Rs 3454. It hit a low of Rs 3390 and a 52-week high of Rs 3570 in trade today.
The total income from operations has gone up 33.9 per cent to Rs 1,608 crore compared to Rs 1,201 crore in the year ago quarter.
The board of directors at its meeting also announced an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share for 2014-15.
The company reported a net profit of Rs 192 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
