BDL posts a sharp profit jump as Q1 revenue more than doubles.

Bharat Dynamics (BDL) on Friday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 118.79 crore, marking a more than 6-fold surge from Rs 18.35 crore net profit reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, while revenue from operations more than doubled.

The defence major’s revenue from operations surged around 131% year on year (YoY) to Rs 572 crore during the April-June quarter of the ongoing financial year 2027, from Rs 248 crore reported in the year-ago period. Sequentially, however, the company’s net profit increased only 5% from Rs 113 crore, and revenue rose 19% from Rs 480 crore reported in the January-March quarter of FY26.

Bharat Dynamics saw its total expenses increase around 64% YoY to Rs 510 crore during the quarter under review, from Rs 312 crore reported in the same period last year. Its earnings per share (EPS) also improved to Rs 3.24 per share from Rs 0.50.

Bharat Dynamics share price

Bharat Dynamics shares remained almost flat after the release of the results on Friday afternoon. The stock has gained over 6% in one week and 8% in a month, but is overall down more than 7% in 2026 so far and 13% in one year.

After hitting a 52-week high of Rs 1,654 apiece on NSE in September last year, the stock lost more than 34% in almost six months and hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,086 apiece in March this year. The stock has so far recovered around 27% since then, trading at around Rs 1,380 apiece.

In the longer term, the company's shares have delivered strong returns of more than 145% in three years and 615% over five years. The defence major currently has a market capitalisation of around Rs 50,476 crore.
