Berger Paints, STL Global among top gainers on BSE
Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 44 shares were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

NEW DELHI: The domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 231.21 points up at 40,063.18 on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Shares of Hariyana Ship Breakers (up 20 per cent), Resonance Specialities (up 20 per cent), Dynamic Cables (up 19.88 per cent), STL Global (up 18.64 per cent), Denis Chem Lab (up 18.07 per cent) , Narayani Steels (up 17 per cent), Ajanta Soya (up 16.91 per cent), Niraj Cement (up 15.79 per cent), Banswara Syntex (up 15.48 per cent), Cimmco(up 14.01 per cent) and Berger Paints (up 6.19 per cent) were among the top performers.
The Nifty 50 index was trading 70.60 points up at 12,016.50.
