Bajaj Finance reported steady customer additions and loan growth during the July-September quarter.
Bajaj Finance shares rose to Rs 993 apiece on Monday morning, snapping a four-session losing streak. The company on Saturday reported a nearly Rs 37,800 crore increase in AUM during the July-September quarter, from Rs 4.6 lakh crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
The non-banking financial company’s customer franchise stood at 12.89 crore as of September 30, 2026, as compared to 11.1 crore during the same period last year. It added more than 44 lakh customers during the second quarter of FY27.
Bajaj Finance’s new loans booked increased 11% YoY to 1.345 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with 1.217 crore in Q2 FY26. However, the NBFC said the figures are not directly comparable due to the early onset of the festive season last year.
The company’s deposits stood at Rs 69,750 crore at the end of Q2 FY27. The numbers are provisional and subject to audit, with the company set to release its final Q2 results later.
Bajaj Finance to raise Rs 17,500 crore via QIP
Bajaj Finance last week announced that it will raise Rs 17,500 crore through a mix of share sale to institutional investors via a qualified institutional placement (QIP) and warrants issued to promoters as it prepares for its next phase of growth. This would mark the first equity capital raise by Bajaj Finance since November 2023, when it raised Rs 10,000 crore through a similar combination.In a late-night notice to the stock exchanges on Thursday, Bajaj Finance said that the company's board of directors had approved raising Rs 11,700 crore through a QIP and Rs 5,800 crore through the issue of warrants via a preferential allotment to promoter Bajaj Finserv.

Jefferies reaffirmed Bajaj Finance as among its top picks following the Q2 business update, maintained its ‘Buy’ call and a target price of Rs 1,280 apiece, implying 35% upside potential.The international brokerage noted that the company’s 26% YoY growth in AUM marks its highest in seven quarters. It said growth in new loans booked slowed from 20% to 11% YoY, partly due to the early festive season in the base when it had grown by 26% YoY.

Bajaj Finance shares have fallen more than 6% in a month, but gained over 2% in 2026 so far. The stock has outperformed the Nifty 50 index which has fallen 14% this year amid multiple headwinds.In the longer term, Bajaj Finance shares have delivered over 26% returns in three years and 29% in five years. The company has a market capitalisation of more than Rs 6.17 lakh crore.
