Axis Bank’s gross advances rise 23% YoY to Rs 13.85 lakh crore in Q2, deposits up 21%
Axis Bank’s gross advances rose 22.7% year-on-year to Rs 13.846 lakh crore by September 30, 2026, while deposits increased 20.7% to Rs 14.521 lakh crore. CASA deposits grew 10.6%, with FCNR(B) flows significantly influencing deposit and loan growth.

Gross advances rose 8.8% from Rs 12.729 lakh crore at the end of June 2026.
The bank’s total deposits increased 20.7% year-on-year to Rs 14.521 lakh crore as of September 30, 2026, from Rs 12.035 lakh crore a year earlier. Deposits grew 5.8% from Rs 13.729 lakh crore at the end of June.
CASA deposits, or current account and savings account deposits, stood at Rs 5.296 lakh crore at the end of September, up 10.6% year-on-year and 1.5% sequentially.
Term deposits increased 27.3% year-on-year to Rs 9.225 lakh crore, compared with Rs 7.245 lakh crore a year earlier. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, term deposits rose 8.4%.
The bank said it mobilised FCNR(B) deposits aggregating $10.62 billion, or around Rs 1.018 lakh crore, as of September 30, 2026, pursuant to the Reserve Bank of India’s swap facility for FCNR(B) deposits.
A portion of these FCNR(B) flows was used to reduce non-retail term deposits during the quarter, which declined 8.6% sequentially.
Loans extended by the bank’s international branches to customers as a leveraging facility for placing such deposits stood at $4.57 billion, or around Rs 43,800 crore.
Excluding these loans, gross advances would have grown 18.8% year-on-year and 5.3% quarter-on-quarter. Total deposits would have grown 17% year-on-year and 2.6% sequentially, while term deposits would have increased 21.3% year-on-year and 3.2% quarter-on-quarter.
The bank also said standby letters of credit issued in favour of other banks in respect of loans against FCNR(B) deposits stood at $4.69 billion, or around Rs 44,900 crore.
Shares of Axis Bank ended Monday’s trading session 0.42% higher at Rs 1,222.20 apiece on the NSE, compared with the previous close of Rs 1,217.10. The stock traded in the range of Rs 1,216.40 to Rs 1,237.40 during the session.
The lender’s shares have declined 4% year-to-date, according to NSE data. At the current market price, Axis Bank’s total market capitalisation stood at Rs 3,80,555.16 crore on the NSE.
The bank said the figures as of September 30, 2026 are provisional and subject to a limited review by its statutory auditors.
Separately, Axis Bank said Sanjeev Moghe, Senior Management Personnel and Group Head: Branch Banking – South, has tendered his resignation to pursue an opportunity outside the bank.
Moghe tendered his resignation on October 4, 2026, and will be relieved from the bank’s services at the close of business on October 30. He will also cease to be a Senior Management Personnel from that date.
