Aurobindo Pharma gains over 3% as subsidiary launches generic Advair Diskus in US; stock up 41% YTD

Following the announcement, Aurobindo Pharma’s share price rose 3.5% to hit an intra-day high of Rs 1,703 apiece on the NSE. Although the stock pared some of its gains, it continued to see strong buying interest.
At 1:50 PM on Monday, the pharma counter was quoted at Rs 1,682.90 apiece, up 2.29% from its previous close of Rs 1,645.30 on the NSE. At the same time, the benchmark NSE Nifty50 was trading at 24,062.05, down 113.60 points, or 0.47%. So far during Monday’s trading session, a combined total of nearly 14 lakh equity shares of Aurobindo Pharma, estimated to be valued at around Rs 235 crore, have exchanged hands on the BSE and NSE.
Aurobindo Pharma shares have delivered a return of 41.16% year-to-date in 2026. Over the past one year, the pharma counter has gained 63.83%, according to NSE data.
At the current market price, Aurobindo Pharma commands a market capitalisation of Rs 96,721.02 crore on the NSE.
Lannett Company LLC announces product launch in the US
The upward movement in Aurobindo Pharma shares came after the company informed the exchanges that Lannett Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma USA, Inc., has launched the generic equivalent of Advair Diskus (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder) in the US market.
The product, which is manufactured by GSK plc, has been launched in 100/50 mcg and 250/50 mcg strengths.
“This launch marks the first product from our inhalation pipeline to be commercialized in the US, reflecting our continued focus on expanding our portfolio of complex and differentiated inhalation products,” the company said in an exchange filing with the NSE on Monday.
Advair Diskus, a combination therapy, is indicated for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
