Drugmaker Aurobindo Pharma extended gains after it received final approval from US Food and Drug Administration for Stavudine capsules and oral solution, used in the treatment for HIV infection.

MUMBAI: Drugmaker Aurobindo Pharma extended gains after it received final approval from US Food and Drug Administration for Stavudine capsules and oral solution, used in the treatment for HIV infection.

The drug is the generic equivalent of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co's Zerit, used to treat Human Immuno-deficiency Virus infection.

At 12:10 pm, the stock was up 4 per cent at Rs 167.60.
