Athens stock exchange index: Rise & fall of Greek stocks

Greece’s stock market has had a turbulent history. In the last two decades, the Athens stock exchange index (ASE) has seen sharp swings with the measure soaring to hit peaks on two occasions: in 1999 and 2007. But, this time, there is hardly any silver lining for Greece as the country faces the threat of bankruptcy and a failing bank system. It would take years for Greece to recover its part glory.
